I have had a love for scented candles for quite a while. One of my favourite brands is Glasshouse Fragrances. They make excellent quality candles that have unique, sweet scents.
Glasshouse Fragrances has launched a candle just in time for Mother’s Day, in honour and support of the McGrath Foundation. The foundation funds breast care nurses throughout Australia and have become one of the biggest breast cancer charities of the past few years.
The candle is named Birds of a Feather. Glasshouse says the name is inspired by “coming together as one flock to support a cause.” The box the candle comes in features a flamingo on it, my favourite bird. They are giving 5% of each purchase to the foundation. The candle itself is unique as the glass is a bright, neon pink, unlike Glasshouse’s other candles, which are clear. The smell is also unique, a blend of grapefruit, cherry and lemon. It really does smell like pink lemonade, delicious! It reminds me of warmer days and I feel I have smelt the scent before when I was younger, but I can’t recall what it was. I recommend lighting this candle and having a bubble bath or spa with a glass of rose wine or a fruity cocktail.
This limited edition candle would make a wonderful Mother’s Day gift, or a treat for yourself. It retails for $42.95 and is available online, selected stockists and Peter Alexander stores.
