Nude lips are a lot more flattering than several years ago, when they were pale and made the wearer often appear washed out. Now nudes have brown and rose undertones, and are available in a plethora of shades for all skin tones.
This year I have embraced the new nude, and have found some that have become staples in my cosmetic bag.
New from Winky Lux are the adorable Double Matte Whip Liquid Lipsticks. I have the shades Angel Food and Lolli. After wearing them a few times I can say they are both gorgeous and the formula is great. They are very long lasting, to the point where they are a bit difficult to remove. I don’t mind this as I can’t stand lipsticks that don’t last. The colours are darker on the lip compared to in the tube. Both shades are darkish nudes and have some brown in them, very on trend. The packaging is scrumptious and sweet, with their pink wands and gold ice cream motifs. They retail for $23 at Mecca Maxima. Find them here.
If matte lips aren’t your thing, you can still wear liquid lipsticks. Curtis collection by Victoria have creamy Lip Velvet lipsticks. They have more shine to them than Winky Lux lipsticks, and are good when you want some added moisture. I have the shade Nude Rose, a pretty modern nude with some pink and brown. They retail for $34. Find them here.
Modelco continue to be an innovative Australian beauty brand. Their collection collaboration with it girl Hailey Baldwin has some beautiful products. My favourite has to be the Perfect Pout Semi Matte Lipstick in Bendo. It is described as a dusty pink. It is another nude pink with some brown and pink as well. This lipstick wears very comfortably on the lips and and is a stunning neutral shade. It retails for $28 and can be found here. While you’re there, I encourage you to check out the other items of the Hailey Baldwin collection.
